KATJA JUG
is a visual artist from Zurich. She presents her work in the form of staged photographs, installations, happenings and artist books.
In her work she deals with topics of everyday life such as climate, nutrition and identity. The publication of the photo publication <Frozen Unfrozen> continues as an autonomous artistic formulation the long-term occupation with the visual representation of thermal practices. At the book presentation, the new artist’s book by Katja Jug will be presented and unfolded in the space. The book tells of the encounter between “Frozen”, a woman, and “Unfrozen”, a man, in an unheated flat in the subtropical winter of the Chinese metropolis of Chongqing. Their bodies move through the flat and the stairwell. They never go outside, but their gazes do. Posing, they explore their inner and outer worlds.
